Shortcut fails first time then runs the second.

I've a folder shared from a server with an exe in it.

 

on the users desktop if they double click the first time in the day they get the

error:

 

"The drive or network connection that the shortcut "my program.lnk" refers to

is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again"

 

Run it a second time and it starts up without an issue. So presumably not a permissions issue.

 

Anyone else seen this

What version of Windows is it? It sounds like the drive mapping is happening slowly, (Say for example with WIn8+ and the 5 min delay on GPOs), and at that time the drive isn't actually there.

 

If you logon, and wait say 10 mins, and try it does it still fail on the 1st try?
