Gongalong Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Hi folks, I have a Word document with some tables in where the text has disappeared in some cells. If I switch on paragraph marks, I still see nothing. If the Word document is sent via gmail the text reappears. Also, if I view the document in Draft or Outline view the text reappears. If I copy the table to Excel, the text reappears. I can see nothing odd about the text or the formatting e.g. rulers seem to be in the right place. Any ideas how I can get this text to display?! Thanks
Steve21 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 99.9% says it's KB4011039 related if it's Word and tables Steve 2
Liam Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Well documented online but ms only repairing n 5th oct. I just removed via wsus 1
Gongalong Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 Ah, wow! Where did you read about it? I search in Google, and turned up one related post on an MS forum which had no solution.
Liam Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Just googled it . I think I typed missing text word 2016 and there was an article on it 1
Gongalong Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 I had probably overegged it! "word text shows in draft view but not in print layout"

Sir Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Was just going to post this solution but you lot already beat me to it..... but if you need the command like i used for mass uninstall immediately, it is: START "" /WAIT %WINDIR%\System32\wusa.exe /uninstall /KB:4011039 /quiet /norestart 1
ajs Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 KB4011040 was released the other day which supersedes KB4011039 :-) 3
ajs Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Indeed it is, that'll teach me not to read things back before posting. KB4011140 is what I meant to type.
Katy Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Wonder what completely unrelated feature KB4011140 will break.... (me? cynical? never)
