[sims] Cover issue in SIMS

Hello.

 

We have a number of staff members designated as cover supervisors. For 2017-18, when any coer is added to the cover module for hem to do they do not see it in their home page and on the cover module page there is a cross next to their name. If I remove them form cover and add another member of staff who is down as "provides cover" in Manage classroom staff, there is no cross next to that person'#s name.

 

We can't work out what has changed for these staff members for cover to not work correctly for them.

 

Any ideas? Anyone seen this before? The cross is not mentioned in any Capita documentation that I can find.

Have you checked that have a valid entry in 'Manage Classroom staff' for the current academic year?

Do you mean under 'working patterns' in organisation? Yes, we have the correct information there.

that and that they have the correct teacher code for the current year and are marked to provide cover in panel 2.

Other than that, check they don't have a clash with some other timetabled/alternative curriculum class at the specified times.

Validate memberships can sometimes help.

Other than that I'd log a call with your SIMS support as it will require more specific investigation than you'd want to do over a public forum.

Don't worry about the cross, it just means they don't get credit for doing the cover (it's in global settings)

Are you sure the personnel record the cover is being attached to is linked to their SIMS login?
