Davida1992 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Hi, we use Meraki MDM to manage our portable devices, up to this point we have really only deployed iPads and apple devices through it. But we are looking at investing in some Android Tablets now. Can anyone recommend any decent quality Android Tablets that will be able to withstand a college environment (robust, decent battery life, affordable etc). They need to be on Android 6 or above to be able to work best with Meraki. Open to ideas and suggestions here. Thanks.
atcoates Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'd be interested to see what people recommend. As much as I'm not an apple fan the Ipads we have are so robust (in Griifin Survivor cases) I'd be loathed to swap for something that didn't have the same longevity. We have over 300 Ipads of all ages used day in day out and so far we have one cracked screen and one broken home button! The battery life is still really good as well. When I looked before it only looked like the Google Nexus devices had the same robustness and maybe Dell android tablets. I felt at least with the Nexus one you had more chance of keeping the OS up to date but they were the same price as the Ipads so we stuck with them.
bigdannyb79 Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 @Davida1992 did you get anywhere with this. Having a look at android devices and durability in a school environment is something not often covered in online reviews !
Davida1992 Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 Sorry about the delay, it may be too late now, we ended up going for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A - they are quite big but I think decently priced and they come on Android 7 so they work fine on Meraki for us. Not really had them long enough to judge though, we have literally just purchased 25 of them and are rolling them out next week. Thanks. 1
