Basic Notepad For Chromebook

Can someone suggest a basic notepad for Chromebooks please? Something without a spell checker will be good.

Ah! it won't run as a kiosk app for some reason. It starts to load but comes ip "oh no, the kiosk application could not be launched"

 

Works fine on Ctirix receiver.

Are you trying to run exams on Chromebooks by any chance? It's just that I spent a while messing around with kiosk mode apps, text editors and the like and then found this which is paid for but a much better solution. https://www.digiexam.com/

project was canned by management so we didn't go ahead with it yet; we are hoping to have another go with our yr9 English GCSE cohort later this year.

IIRC the price was around £7 per student per year, but you can have named students or yeargroups and don't need to pay for the whole school. There are other non-exam uses too.

Its definitely worth looking at and it will probably save your exams team some time.

This solution works, but doesn't automatically put users onto a new line. Do you have any other suggestions please?

I use Drive Notepad - it's a code editor, complete witrh syntax highlighting and line numbers, so might not be quite what you're looking for.
