Cheapest way to run Google Chrome browser...?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Looking for the cheapest option for a stick, chrome, Android etc that can connect to a wifi network and run Google Chrome (the browser not the OS). Can be a hdmi TV stick, cheap nasty etc. as long as it works.

Need it for a management console for my student wifi that I can have turned on 24/7 on a Unifi network.

Thanks as always

Do you have existing hardware you can use? If not what form factor? PC, tablet or desktop?

If you can run Google Chrome on ChromeOS is that ok?

Thanks

Could you not use one of these

Ubiquiti UniFi Controller Hybrid Cloud Key

and connect from your workstation when needed ?

Works really well for me

Hi

Yeah I've got one running the student wi-fi and they are fab. Issue is that it's on a completely separate wired network from my PC, no physical route from A to B. However, @FN-GM made me realise that I was overthinking the problem, I've got some old rubbish 10" android tablets in a cupboard, I can just use one of those...

Nothing to see here, just a very tired network admin

Extra monitor from a desktop that's already running 24x7?

How about one of the cheapo Smart TV Android boxes from ebay? Obtainable for <£20 normally. Depends how dirty you want to get your hands with automating Android to open up a specific webpage in Chrome upon power loss etc.
