Dynamic distribution group from text string

Hi can any one tell me the powershell command to to create a dynamic distribution group in office 365 that looks for a sting of texted contained in the department field. I can't seem to get the like comment to work. I want to be able to put "yr1 yr2" in the department field then put that person into two groups.
