We already deployed Visual Studio 2017 Community edition to desktops. The problem is that was version 15.2 and now with 15.3 they changed the project templates and an end user wants the newer version.

Is there a way to just upgrade visual studio via SCCM or would I have to use SCCM's supercedence and uninstall the old version and install the new version.

I tried to silently do a Vs_installer.exe update --layout "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017" --quiet but that failed.

I am not a fan of how MS is doing the installers now. Seems very fickle to me. But at least it isnt as bad as 2015 was.

Thanks for any help.
