During the capture I want to boot all the new machines so I can hit go at the end of the day so they run over night. I already have a TS created but I will be amending it during the day and of course changing the OS image to be deployed. If I boot all machines up to the point it asks for the PXE password, will I be ok changing the TS? I don't know at which point the machine is queried and the task sequences available get loaded. I don't want to boot them all to find that it's loading the old TS configuration Edited August 23, 2017 by snagrat
Steve21 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Nope. There's a built-in timeout, and it complains if you wait too long, even without changing settings. Seems like it only holds the connection open so long while it's doing nothing At least this is what happened last year when I tried something similar, they might have fixed it but wouldn't risk it Was annoying as hell haha Steve

Steve21 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 When you tried to progress further, e.g. select image etc it just came up with an error that was basically a "nope, too slow" In all fairness must have been a few hours between the boot and the test, as was over 4 suites and then some software modifications before we tried. No harm in trying I guess Would be nice if it does work now! Steve
sparkeh Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 What I have done I've past is to create a dummy TS that prompts for a TS variable. If you leave the machines sat at the screen where it prompts for which TS to run, you can click the dummy TS (and it prompts for the var) then hit 'back' and it reloads the TS list with updated TS 1
