She has in fact featured a TalkTalk c*ckup today... someone's 90 year old mother cut off in error when her address was entered by mistake instead of that of another customer who wanted to change ISP.

Whenever I start to get hassle from companies, I e-mail their CEO. I know it won't go anywhere near them, but usually someone higher up than a call centre.

Mr Clive Selley - Chief Executive

Email [email protected]

This is the method I've had most success with. In your case, I'd contact the CEO of talktalk* as well, as they're the ones you have a contract with. (On that note, I wouldn't stop paying the direct debit as you'd be in breach of contract. They are too, but that won't really help you when they refer it to a debt recovery agency and two big blokes come knocking at your door.)

Send a carefully worded and polite email with a factual history - especially promises you've been made that haven't been kept. You could also send a copy to the ombudsman and your choice of national newspaper consumer complaints service and mention that in your email.

Elsiegee's method is also worth a go, but IME takes longer.

sooo, after 8 and a half long weeks with this service been down we are back to square one. We now have a dial tone however the speeds are around 1mb down and 300kpbs up. Looks like i'll be complaining again to talktalk. What a crappy time I've had with talktalk and openreach.

You're telling me. I've got a nice long letter ready to submit to them with chat logs and events all dated and timed but i guess they wont do anything about it
