RobFrain Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Afternoon We have many many items of old hardware in our store room that we'd like to sell on Ebay (Ruckus APs, Walkie Talkies, Phones etc etc) Do any other schools use this method? Are there any procedures in place? What do you do about VAT? Any advice much appreciated!
elsiegee40 Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Did it at my last school, but a) We were independent so had to pay VAT on everything (except marketing bizarrely) b) We weren't VAT registered so didn't have to charge VAT on anything It made it so much simpler. Schools and academies don't pay VAT, so they'd be selling on things on which duty hasn't been paid. Where that leaves them legally I don't know.
