Users who are sponsors (of what?)

I notice that some users have a green Sponsor badge, but I can't find anywhere where it says what company they represent.

Folk normally have it in their profile, if not in a sig or something, IIRC.

If you let us know anyone who you can't identify through their profile or sig, we'll give them a nudge to do so.

 

I use the app 99% of the time so don't even see the sponsor badges!

Then again we also have some people on here that are sponsors, but have chosen different badges to be their main one. At least we can see it in their profiles though before we report for non-sponsor advertising though. Edited July 24, 2017 by DJ-1701

Sponsors are those employed by companies that have paid to sponsor a forum on EduGeek.

 

Sponsors are allowed to advertise their product/services within their sponsored forum and provide quotes to members if asked to do so.

 

Only sponsors are allowed to use EduGeek commercially. Non-sponsors promoting their services have their posts removed, are invited to contact Dos_Box regarding advertising rates and can be suspended or banned if they continue to ignore forum rules.

 

Nobody, sponsor or not, is allowed to cold-contact (spam) members directly via PM touting for business.

 

Supporters, back in the days when EduGeek was very small and sponsorship revenue was insufficient to support the forum, were members who donated money to keep the site going. They kept their badges even though we no longer take donations from members. A few people who have provided support to the forum in other ways have also been given supporter badges, if they choose to use them. An example is Joanne who has worked on the BETT stand for the last few years.

Thanks for the clarification, I edited my post as I realised that I confused myself thinking they had the same badge.
