Hi All,

I've just been emailed this link from my Business Manager:

https://ccs-agreements.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/contracts/rm1050

What am I supposed to do with it....?

Anybody used it to any great affect?

Saved loads of money?

Etc...

I would e-mail it back with a ? myself. ;)

Not helpful at all on the website really. From what I can see, it just appears to be list of suppliers that you can contact for IT Services or items, which may or may not be cheeper.

Suppliers seem to include contact and web details for:

Bramble Hub Ltd

Babcock Education

CAE Technology Services

Centerpricse Enterprise

Civica UK

Capita Business Services Ltd

Circle IT Solutions Limited

Computer Systems in Education Limited

Dataspire Solutions Ltd

Ergo Computing UK

Euroopean Electronique

Gaia Technologies plc

Joskos Solutions

CDW Limited

Lendlease Construction

Misco UK

Kier Business Services

Oasis IT Services Ltd

RM Education Ltd

Softcat Ltd

XMA Ltd

We have seen this before on edugeek. There was a thread somewhere about it a couple of years back.

From what I remember you submit a spec that you want and they put it out to tender.

The idea is that bulk purchase results in economies of scale. The downside is that I believe you're obliged to go ahead with the best quote and that you won't necessarily get exactly what you asked for - just what "meets the spec."

@elsiegee40

Collective bargaining power, our LA tried the same thing here a while back, we are still required to present 3 quotes on items over £5k but we are obliged to use their listed contractors.

It can work out very effective if all the LA schools use it as intended otherwise its just a wasted exercise!

I would say its more along the lines of what Academies are doing right now as they have numbers of schools under their procurement umbrella!
