Bev Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Is it possible to import a timetable and what sort of format does it need to be in? We create ours in an external program and I'd like to put it into SIMS without having to recreate it class by class.
bobsmith Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 What program was it produced in? I know that Keith Johnson's timetable software can do a SIMS export.
Bev Posted June 30, 2017 Author Posted June 30, 2017 We are using something called ASC Timetables, it offers a number of exports but not specifically a SIMS one. If I know what format is required for SIMS, I can probably produce a file in the correct format from the ASC output.
bobsmith Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 this stuff isn't all that standardised, I've had a hunt through the asc timetables website and it's not filling me with confidence that it has a format that you're going to be able to import into SIMS. I know that Keith Johnson's Timetabler software has an explicit SIMS export, but not seen any others that do.
ITBadger Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 If the software that you are using exports to an SPL file then you could try loading that in NovaT6. That would provide a path to get the timetable to SIMS. I'd be careful to ensure that you have verified backups before you start though.
