Windows 10 not booting on mac when restoring a deploy studio image

So these are the steps I'm doing:

1. Copied over a wim using imagex onto the source imac. Windows 10 didn't boot, but I did a repair via a usb with the W10 install files on and then it booted fine.

2. Used deploy studio to lift the whole source imac image file which includes the mac ox and windows partitions

3. Used deploy studio to deploy to the target imac and Windows 10 refuses to boot although the partition is there. A repair in this case doesn't work.

 

Where am I going wrong here? This process used to work for Windows 7.

I'll answer my own question as I've solved it now. I needed to create the windows partitions specifically with bootcamp and then install windows also from the bootcamp process. Then I booted into windows PE from a stick, formatted the partition I had just installed windows on and then restored the wim file (previously lifted from another pc) onto the same now empty partition. Then I can boot windows and install the bootcamp drivers, sysprep and then upload windows with deploy studio. Phew!
