Convert Powerpoint to Flash or any video format

Does anyone know of any open source or freeware software that will convert powerpoint files to a video format such as flash?

openoffice impress will save powerpoint as a basic slideshow flash.

how about a screen capture bit of software, that is free and will convert anything on your screen to an AVI file that you can then convert to a smaller file? Keeps all the effects and timings ect.
