lhume Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Field Based Technical Support Specialist – London Up to £29,000 dependent on experience – Permanent Our client, a large PLC who provide ICT support services to schools and provide excellent opportunities for progression, are looking for a Field Based Technical Support Specialist to join their existing team to provide technical support to schools IT systems both remotely and on-site, as well as be involved with the implementation of both large and small scale projects. Your will be responsible for carrying out regular technical on-site support visits, service desk/remote support, project management, project installations, training and consultancy and quality control to ensure satisfactory outcome to requests. Responsibilities; · 1st-3rd line support both on-site and remotely · Escalating unresolved support issues to third parties or the Technical Support Manager and progressing these support issues as required · Basic troubleshooting and pro-active maintenance tasks · Creating project analyses based on project requirements · Coordinate onsite install issues · Estimate and assign time/resources to projects, oversee implementation, sign off and carry out handover with customers Requirements; · 2nd and 3rd line helpdesk experience · Windows client/server operating systems and networking technologies · Backup technologies (NT Backup, Veritas/Symantec) · Antivirus systems (Symantec and Sophos) · Server and computer hardware · Networking infrastructure – cabling, routers, managed switches · Microsoft TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP · Previously worked in IT within the Education Sector Desirable; · Quality control management · Managed wireless solutions · Apple – OSX and iOS · 3 years supporting and administering a Microsoft Windows Server/Client network · Smartboards, interactive whiteboards, multimedia projectors · RM CC4 or similar Educational Operating System · A current Microsoft qualification · Prince2 This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
