Theldron Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Hi all, I would like to setup a radius server and link to our Aruba APIN0205 WAPs. Has anyone got a good guide for this? Or can give me some advice? I want to limit only school devices connecting to the wireless. Cheers
KevinB Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 We do that here with Aruba kit using Aruba Instant and Windows NPS. A couple of questions: Are you using Aruba Instant or a Mobility/Omniview controller? Are you going to use Windows NPS for RADIUS or a different server?

I am using Aruba Instant, I am using Windows Server 2008r2, this will be the first time setting up.
KevinB Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 OK, cool, we should be able to do this then In brief the things you need to do are: Install NPS on your server Once installed, create a RADIUS client that has an IP address of your Aruba Instant management address and a shared secred that will also go into Instant Create a Connection Request polict and a Network Access policy to define who you want to be allowed access to the network In Instant, set up a new server entry in PEF that matches the info you put into the connection request and RADIUS client settings in NPS (particularly the shared secret) and then set the ESSID to use that server for 802.11X authentication. I'm away from my desk tomorrow but on Monday I'm happy to put together a sort of worksheet with some screnshots if you think that would help.
Theldron Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 Hi mate, sorry for the delay in getting back to you been manic. I am going to look at that today. Thanks again.
