I have deployed a remote app farm for our users here and allow another school in our trust to connect to it. Im am using server 2012, with two session hosts.

It works perfectly fine everywhere but at their site they are having a right mare. Initial connection takes about 5 minutes, then they are frequesntly disconnected and sometimes they struggle to connect at all.

Im struggling to determine the root cause but i am sure that the problem is limited to their site. They are behing their own ISP / firewall so i am unable to view any logs or anything.

Any suggestions?

I suspect its bandwidth .

Hi Liam

Not sure if this will be what your issue is - we have seen issues with our firewall blocking the root certificates from being updated on the client machines. It appears that when the remote desktop tried to start a remote app, it want's to verify the certificate you are using is still valid and hasn't been revoked. Our Sophos firewall was blocking the root updates, and we noticed on the logs traffic was being sent to our certificate signer's domain (Go Daddy in our case). As soon as we put the firewall rules in, the connections went down from approx 3-5 mins to 30 seconds.

Good luck!

Cheers @jthornton1605. We had this initially at my secondary site - but i have resolved that now. Its just this one site. I fear its their firewall but ill have to do some more troubleshooting.

Thanks again.

Anyone help with this? Still having issues. I have even tried to send via a end to end vpn and still

Get drop outs. Any ways I can troubleshoot? I am thinking it’s client level?
