pbad Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 The school has decided to have digital registers for Nursery. The teachers will use either an iPad or a PC to complete the register. The School currently uses CMIS to manually enter in the register information. I have no idea who to contact and how to get this in place before the start of the new academic school year. I would like to know what the cost is to get this setup and if it is possible to have a cut-off time where the Teachers have a time limit so they cannot mark a child in if they are late. As the late child must visit the School Office to receive a late slip. Any help would be appreciated.
Green_Eggs_No_Ham Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 In terms of who to contact, call the Support team, or your Account Manager at Advanced - in both cases you will probably speak to someone and get a call back, but that's how they keep their wait times down on the phones. In terms of what you're trying to do - you say you're using CMIS - I'm guessing Facility and ePortal? But you say the registers are entered manually which makes me think you're taking paper registers and typing these in in the office? Sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick.....
pbad Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 The School uses facility CMIS and ePortal. The Teachers mark the paper registers and then the registers are sent back to the school office for the office staff to enter into CMIS. Basically we want to get rid of paper registers for the Nursery Teachers.
Achandler Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 You can do it all on ePortal already then. On ePortal you can open the Roll Calls and fill them, I'm assuming as Nursery you don't have teaching groups and lesson by lesson registers
pbad Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 I haven't checked ePortal in years as we've never had a need to use it. We have 2 classes in Nursery with each class having approximately 30 children. I'll contact Advanced Learning to get ePortal setup and configured for the Nursery Teachers.
bobsmith Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 IF you're using eportal for the rest of the school, then it's more likely that your timetabler will have to ensure the classes are created correctly and ePORTAL would actually work right now. I've never heard of any bespoke changes being needed for a different key stage to be usable within ePORTAL.
pbad Posted June 9, 2017 Author Posted June 9, 2017 Just a quick update. Advanced Learning has got ePortal up and running and will show the Office staff how to create logins for the Teachers. Thanks for your help.
