[sims] Cover - "greyed out" lessons

Dear all,

 

In cover, when clicking a teacher to potentially assign, you see their timetable for the day at the bottom of the screen.

 

If for whatever reason, some of their lessons have been suspended, it is "greyed out" - or at least it's supposed to be.

 

It's EXTREMELY close to "white" - the colour of the lesson if it is active. It's therefore quite difficult to determine at times.

 

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to make it easier to see? Surely SIMS could user a bolder colour if not??

@tben2505 please don't bite my head off, but I've found frequently with many PCs in my school that the colour calibration on the monitors is sooooo bad that the grey and white (which are really obvious on my screen) are totally indistinguishable.

 

Even on the crappy old monitors a little tweak to the brightness/contrast makes it stand out perfectly.

I've tried but will definitely try harder with the colour collab - thanks for the tip

Just tried it on mine to see how bad the colour Capita used is, and it's a very bad choice by them, but I can see the difference without any squinting.

 

It's actually a worse grey than they use for the read only columns in marksheets!!

Someone showed me a screencap (I think) and it was easily discernible, so I'm not sure what's happening!

 

Will endeavour to look on other machines and see whether it's monitor or not!

yeah, the screencap won't be affected by the monitor calibration, it looks perfectly fine to me (but then it would do!)

 

You'd actually be better with a mobile phone photo of the screen!

So Bob you can see the one I posted with the arrow clearly enough? Suggests it is monitor, but if you look at the one I got from another user - it's clearly a dark grey (same colour as the ncr! block...)

 

CAPITA were stumped by this

13A/Es2? looks the same colour as the rest of em from your mobile phone picture. Definitely colour calibration on the monitor. Should be far more obvious to distinguish than that.
