OAITC Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 OK if this is the wrong section I'm sorry but I need some help with an odd question! So we have a fleet of Lenovo x131e Chromebooks and we need to scan them into a inventory spreadsheet for decommissioning purposes and we can not scan the barcodes with our Honeywell or Symbol scanners. I started manually typing in the serial numbers and my supervisor told me no, he doesn't want mistake so figure out a way to make the scanners work OR find a scanner that will read them. I figured someone else has had to have scanned in the serial number barcode that is under the battery, what scanners are you guys/gals using? Side note, our scanners work fine on the Lenovo 11e serial number barcodes, just not the x131e's. Thanks!

If you have a barcode picture you can place on here, could give it a test with our barcode scanner and let you know, and others could too.
OAITC Posted May 30, 2017 Author Posted May 30, 2017 Tried to find a clean picture online, no dice. I'll have to take a picture but I don't think it will be clear enough to test scan. Let me see what I can come up with! Thanks!
Fazza Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 You may need to reconfigure your scanners to be able to read the type of barcodes Lenovo have chosen to use. For example you get EAN CODE 39, CODE 128, CODE 93 etc and you may need to reconfigure your scanner via it's instruction manual to read the different types - all makes/models are slightly different.
