Stormborn15 Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Why is it so hard to get this working? I started it on 10 machines and only 2 of them started downloading and installing the updates... Identical laptops, identical image and build - why don't the others work?... Frustrated as having to do manual patching by disabling Windows Update services on each laptop...
psydii Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 How many updates do they need to do. For clients way behind, it is sometime necessary to tweak IIS to allow it to build the lists.

psydii Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/configmgrdogs/2016/11/02/windows-update-error-80072ee2-wsus/ It seems to be a popular article at the moment, it has an update today (15th May) with a caveat. 1
psydii Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Also you could jump start the update process on clients by downloading and installing the following in order (make sure you pick the right architecture) onto each machine via a USB: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3020369/april-2015-servicing-stack-update-for-windows-7-and-windows-server-2008-r2 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3102810/installing-and-searching-for-updates-is-slow-and-high-cpu-usage-occurs-in-windows-7-and-windows-server-2008-r2 https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/3125574/convenience-rollup-update-for-windows-7-sp1-and-windows-server-2008-r2-sp1 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4019264 1
