RobAngell Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Hello all, I've got a faulty Smart LightRaise 60WI which has just gone out of warranty (always the way...), switches off after a few minutes of operation, not dust build up, and fans running fine. Can anyone in the hive mind recommend a third party service/repair company? Smarts only authorised centre in Europe is in the Netherlands, so not ideal. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
NB9457 Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 It'll probably be more worthwhile to replace it, Epson do similar projectors. Or you could have a look at something like this, which may be your best bet: SMART LightRaise 60Wi Touch Screen Interactive Projector ONLY | eBay 1

Some projectors do that when the lamp needs changing - not sure if it's an LED or lamp projector as I've not seen one. 1

Also unfortunately my workplace isn't interested in using ebay for procurement. Some projectors do that when the lamp needs changing - not sure if it's an LED or lamp projector as I've not seen one. Interesting, I've not come across one which behaves that way before, we do have another one in operation so I might just try switching the lamps, see if it persists. hi there we had one and it was the start on the projector that had failed you say the fans are running dose any error message come up i no there is a amber light that came on for us to tell us that was going on Red Steady Flash which the documentation suggests as Overheating, Fan Failure or Colour Wheel, I don't believe it to be one of those three though, unless its a component fault causing it to read an overheat when one does not exist. As you have another one, definitely worth a try. When I first came across the orange coloured Sahara projectors we used to have here they did that and I thought they were the symtoms of it over heating but it turns out it wasnt and it was a worn out lamp causing the issue. 1

Definitely was! Your spot on the money there Fazza, thank you! Switching the lamps around proved that the fault actually lies with the lamp, I feel a fool for not thinking to switch the lamps around previously! Too used to NEC's making it easy!
