test_richie Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Hi All We are just setting up Microsoft classroom and it require 6 CSV's from our MIS (SIMS) and wanted to know if anyone has already done this? Do you have the templates that you could send over that I can import or have SIMS already made some that I can use? Thanks
matt40k Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Think Ruler have a free sync tool you can use - Ruler SDS | Free School Data Sync Tool Also SalamanderSoft has a tool which does a heck of a lot more, just as they point out, your data won't be in the nice new UK data centers! - Salamander Active Directory now has support for Microsoft Classroom and School Data Sync – SalamanderSoft – Education Integration (https://edu.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1103279-where-do-the-services-store-data) 2
mrforgetful Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Good luck getting hold of the SDS Tool from Ruler. You complete contact details and receive an email a short time later asking what your requirements are. You reply saying you want the free SDS Tool and get no response. You chase it up a few days later and get no response.
vikpaw Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I used the contact us form and got a reply within and hour or two from the Sales and Marketing director with info and an offer of a demo. I hadn't requested the tool, but hopefully it's an oversight.
BenTinker Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Hi, Ruler SDS is made available for free via an instant download. Please double check that the portal invite hasn’t been caught up in your spam filter first, before re-contacting Ruler Support, who will be able to provide you with an instant re-invite. Hope that helps. 2
matt40k Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Appears SalamanderSoft are following Ruler by providing a free SDS tool - Salamander School Data Sync | SalamanderSoft Limited - just another quality free tool from them (Free Utilities | SalamanderSoft Limited) 3
vikpaw Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I just requested via the form and ticked SDS, and got sent a portal link. I've logged in and have access to the instructions and downloads. 60MB zip download. Don't use SIMS at the moment, so sucks for me!

matt40k Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Pfff... it's Microsoft, they rebrand most things every 6-18 months
Popular Post MikeW Posted May 5, 2017 Popular Post Posted May 5, 2017 I've used the SalamanderSoft SDS utility this morning and it works well, it's saved me many hours of swearing at SIMS reports and spreadsheets 5
