fiza Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 (edited) I would appreciate it if any users of G Suite and Salamander that have had "TeachersOf" groups created could confirm if they can see all their groups when composing emails? We always thought that when composing an email the groups appear as you type using the description. So typing "teachers of Luke R" would bring up any groups with that name. It seems most do appear but we are missing some. This has only come to light now when a member of staff tried to send an email to teachers of a particular student but that group wasn't appearing as the teacher typed. I have made sure that the group is listed in the directory but it still doesnt appear. I have randomly tried a few others and found a few more that are missing. The groups are there, they do exist, they just don't appear as you type. Can anyone confirm that theirs all appear? I should clarify that Salamander creates the groups in AD which then get synced with G Suite via GCDS. Edited April 25, 2017 by fiza
RLR Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 We're not using the TeachersOf groups in Salamander but we are using a lot of other groups that have synced fine (as far as I'm aware). I've had an issue before in which I needed to hide lots of addresses from the Global Address List and anything I changed in the Google admin side didn't work. So I used GAM to run this command on each group: gam update group [email protected] include_in_global_address_list true If you know which groups are missing you could run a script to update them all in one go (or just run it against all TeacherOf groups). 1

Thanks will give GAM a go against all TeachersOf groups.
