burgemaster Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 We have replaced 4 switches with HPE 1920G`s Every now and again i find that we cannot ping the new switches apart from devices that are directly connected. From our PCs (not directly connected) I can ping the devices attached to them and also to switches that are connected to them. If i disconnect then connect the link port (or disable/enable the port) we can then start to ping the switch again? The link ports are setup as trunks (or tagged/hybrid as HP call them). This is the same for all 4 switches. Is there something silly that I am missing that someone may not have seen before? Thanks in advance.

burgemaster Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Hi, no ping until we disconnect/connect the trunk / tagged link or reboot the switch
Julian Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 What firmware are the switches running, and is there a firmware update?
Fazza Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 What firmware are the switches running, and is there a firmware update? I guess that's worth a try as if you have ever contacted HP Support it's the first thing they ask you to do.
