i need to gather data from the previous 3 years per term and per vulnerable group

1, persistent absence within each vulnerable group

2, I can do the 'how many children are present' but I do not know how to work out how many ARE NOT present. So for example the head teacher says national average for a primary school is 8% in 2015 what is ours? How do I work this out please. Per year, per team and per vulnerable group.

will sims work this out from the registers or do i need to use pencil and calculater ( i told you i need basic)

I am an oldie using SIMS so please very basic step by step if you can...... if not I wont be employed for long

This is going to be a bit more complicated than you want (I think - I may be completely off, and there may be an easier way to do it).

 

First off, for last year and the year before I'd use the official RAISE Online report, much easier.

 

For this year, I'd either use the Reports - Lesson Monitor - Whole Group Student Reports - Persistent Absence Report - Student Threshold, and then use index/match in excel to count up what students were in what vulnerable groups, or I'd use just the plain Persistent Absence Report, using the User Defined Group group type, and add all my vulnerable students to their groups to report on those.

 

I'd suggest using discover to create the groups, but that might be beyond you (no offence!)

For the current year, would the School Report not do the job? Reports - School Report - Uncheck everything apart from Session Attendance summary - Show long version and change the date range for the first term and then run for each term? Depends on what vulnerable groups you're looking for.
