Head of IT and Network Manager – North London

Up to £60,000 plus extensive benefits (Full Time, Permanent)

Our client, an exciting and innovative, new mixed secondary academy in North London are looking for an experienced Head of IT and Network Manager to lead on the strategic development of IT and network services within their school, as they sit at the heart of a growing multi-academy trust.

 

As the Head of IT and Network Manager, your duties will include responsibility for providing a strategic lead for IT within the school, overseeing the smooth running of all IT networks and services, ensuring the helpdesk system is utilised by all staff and users, management of all IT staff/contractors and ensuring policies are operationally embedded in day to day operations.

 

Requirements

 

· Experience of previously leading / managing a team.

· Experience managing a large network.

· Ability to manage new IT initiatives within a school.

· A degree level qualification or equivalent.

· Evidence of continuous professional development.

 

Technical Knowledge/Experience

 

· Internet connectivity and associated hardware/services (firewall, filtering etc).

· Physical and Virtual servers and management software (VMWare, Hyper-V).

· Managed wired/wireless networked, SSID management, VLAN structures.

· Microsoft Server, Exchange, Officer 365, Google Apps, Microsoft Azure.

· Data backup management software.

· Switches and switch configuration.

· Apple Macs, iPads.

· E-Safety (ie: cyber bullying, social networking, real time communications)

Hi, if you can send your CV to [email protected] with you contact phone number, then I will call you back to discuss the role in further detail.

My usual approach to jobs is to look at the spec and then to tailor my CV and cover letter so that I can best show how my skills and experience match the role rather than bore anyone with stuff that is likely of no interest to them. I'm unlikely to put that effort in, unless I can see that the job meets my criteria. Without a more precise location than "north london", my default assumption is simply that it is not.

 

You are welcome to PM me the location but my point is really that if you are still looking for quality candidates, missing vital information from the advert reduces your potential pool of those people. Up to you I guess.
