gumbygaz Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Afternoon, Since leaving the LEA (who used to do all this for us), we've now got a faulty fan on a switch - so HP sent out a replacement. Is it just a case of copying the config on the current one, using console cable and configure the new one then physically swap them? Or is there things I should be watching out for? It's the same make/model as the one being replaced (HP Procurve 2650) Gaz
LytchettNM Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Make sure you check the firmware versions are the same on both units. 1
foofighterjim Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 And that the patch leads go into the same ports if using port based VLANs or QoS. 1
gumbygaz Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 Thankfully no vlan config so config copied across and switch up and running. Cheers for the help & reassurance!
