NetworkNinja Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Hello All, Wasent sure where to post this? sorry if its in the wrong place. Basically i have an external hard drive on my computer where we keep files of staff and students when they leave the school. We have also started putting on videos from English speaking and learning tests. I am wondering if there is any way i could create a backup of the external hard drive. Our main backup software is Symantec Backup Exec 2012 but i am 100% sure i cant add external devices. if anyone has any suggestions then please let me know. Thank-you
admars Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Are the contents on the external drive, just files? if so batch job to copy them somewhere else? Scheduled task using robocopy? or you could use backup software to backup that drive, maybe something like easeus? Using Symantec can't you explicitly set an extra task to do that drive?
penfold Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) You sure? I've got an external drive plugged into one of our servers which is being backed up. We are running Backup Exec 2010 but it does what you need. It just seems the drive as an additional letter. Edit: There is a specific job to backup the External Drive as it doesn't change very often and is non essential information. Edited February 10, 2017 by penfold
