Could anyone using UBF please help me with a couple of questions:

1- what happens to machines without the relevant proxy servers defined?

2- how do you deal with iPads?

3- is it single sign on or will users need to log in?

4- is it worth it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi KPB,

1. They are filtered by the default policy.

2. I don't (see 1 above)

3. We use RM unify which has an AD Sync tool which communicates with the UBF servers. When UBF first used, you need to get all users to change their network passwords in order to force a sync of AD.

4. Worth it? yes as it's only a few hundred quid, HOWEVER, it's nowhere near as good as something like Lightspeed which costs a few grand.

I myself am looking at ditching it and going onto Lightspeed or Smoothwall, as it is basic (it does have some functionality) and I need more.

Cheers
