Best S-Video/RCA cables

Hello,

 

Can anyone recommend the best quality S-Video and 3x RCA cables they've found to use on Amazon?

 

Needs to have S-Video Male/Male and composite video and L+R audio Male/Male or separate cables that I can tie together.

 

I know there is never a massive amount of difference between "premium" and not cables, but with composite any help is needed!

I think it's difficult to recommend one as there are simply 1000s out there many of which are identical but branded differently.

 

Importantly how long is your cable run going to be?

 

For example if you hooking up a projector on a long cable run, could you use an A/D converter at source? e.g. S-VIDEO to HDMI as digital will carry the signal over a distance with less picture degradation than a long analogue cable.

 

If your talking about only a short run i.e. VCR to VCR 🤔, then I doubt you'll notice a huge difference in any cable.

I quite like the 'Digital' series of cables from Cable Mountain. Fairly low cost and well made. Poor choice of name though...

I would recommend this style connector over the other sort with the four outside prongs. Also look for a nice thick sturdy cable. Most of your signal issues are going to be from damaged cables or poor connections - so I would avoid the cheapest ones as they are quite thin and fragile.

I tend to buy Belkin for things like S-Video etc, and Cambridge Audio for RCA Leads (tend to buy them through Richer sounds)
