Groove Music and Movie Creator

This has been nagging me for a week or so since we did the brief look at the upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update as I didn't mention them due to a lack of information at the time (and still!).

Basically, after years of people asking for a Windows version of Garage Band, it finally looks like Microsoft have given them what they want in the form of Groove Music Maker.

This was shown for just a few seconds in the Creators Update intro video in October.

How good this will be is anyone's guess, but I would suspect it would have to be at least as capable as Garage Band given that would be the natural comparison.

 

 

Also worth mentioning is the rumoured Windows Movie Creator which had been in beta for Windows 8 but never saw the light of day in a finished format.

Rumour has it that it may appear in the Creators Update and given the other content of the update I can't see why not given it would make little sense to have an OS now has lots of new multimedia and 3D features but omits one of the major capabilities that users would want to be creative with.

Anyway, we shall find out soon enough
