Media Smart :: Body image and advertising

Research shows that over half of girls and a quarter of boys think their peers have body image problems*. So now more than ever, it is important that pupils are media literate and able to navigate the world of commercial messaging. Help them to better understand advertising and its influence with our film-based classroom resource for pupils aged 9 to 11 which will tackle the sensitive issues related to body image.

Supported by the Government Equalities Office and accredited by the PSHE Association, the resources are designed to build pupils’ emotional resilience as they learn to engage deeper with the messages and methods of advertising. These high-quality resources were created by leading independent experts and will support you in teaching engaging and interactive lessons with key curriculum links to PSHE.
