LeightonJames Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Hello Peeps Got an odd issue that is driving me insane. I can't pin down the source of the problem and unfortunately it never happens when I am on site. I return to the school in question to find that the issue has appeared again. The school are running 2 RISO ComColor 7050 MFD's. Each are installed localy on the Teacher machines. The machines in question are running Windows 10 Enterprise x64. The teacher's are reporting that the print queue is getting blocked and nothing will print from the machine. When I look at the print queue on the machine there is a stuck job that appears to have been created by SYSTEM. The only way to clear this from the queue is to restart in safe mode and delete the contents of the C:\windows\system32\spool\printers folder as the local admin account. Obviously this is not ideal and I need to work out what is causing it. Had a look in the readme file for the driver to see if anything in there stood out: ============================================================================ Notes on use ============================================================================ (1) Be sure to use the printer driver, which corresponds to your printer's name. (2) The maximum number of printed sheets that can be set for the printer is 9,999. Although a larger number may be set depending on the application, be sure to set the number of sheets to a maximum of 9,999 or less. If a number more than or equal to 10,000 is set, the actual number of printed sheets may not be correct. (3) If you perform multi-page printing from a computer with small available space on its hard disk, the spool area of the computer may become insufficient and printing may not be performed properly. (4) If multi-page printing is not available because of insufficient space on the internal HDD, set the printing port to "RAW" and the ejection mode to "Non-collate." Although the number of copies is limited to "1," printing can be performed without limiting the number of pages. (5) If the printing port is set to "LPR" or "IPP" port, the maximum file size for printing is 2 GB. For printing a spool file that exceeds 2 GB, set the printing port to "RAW." (6) The version and color printing contents output by test printing are the contents displayed by the Microsoft® Windows® system. For the printer driver version, refer to the [About] tab in the [Printing Preferences] dialog. (7) If printing does not function properly after installation of the printer driver, restart the OS spooler or the OS. (8) When outputting under a shared printer environment or local printer environment of Windows Server2003 or former OS, select [Property] - [Advanced] from the printer driver and select [print directly to the printer]. If this is not selected, output may not be performed. (9) At the time of printing, two jobs of the same name are registered for one job in the Windows spooler. When deleting a job from the spooler, delete two jobs for each job from the spooler. ============================================================================ Restrictions from software to be used ============================================================================ (1) Be sure to remove the check mark from "Collate" in the print dialog application. Remove it even for collated printing. If the checkmark is placed, printing may not be performed correctly. (2) When printing files from Microsoft Excel® with Print what set to "Entire workbook," if "Page Setup" or "Print Setting" varies with the sheet, printing may not be performed correctly. In this case, set "Page Setup" and "Print Setting" the same for all sheets. (3) If data including an object with transparent setting for filling color is printed, the data may not be printed in the correct color. (4) When using this product as a Shared Printer, check on [Render print jobs on client computers]. (5) This product is designed for "Desktop Style", and does not work on "WinRT Style". Anyone seen any similar issues on Windows 10? Cheers

A driver update using the official win 10 drivers from the riso site fixed ours.
LeightonJames Posted January 26, 2017 Author Posted January 26, 2017 Thanks for your help. Already using the latest driver from Riso.
bigjb Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I also found we have to remove all trace of the previous driver from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\ before the new driver took affect. Might be worth a look.
LeightonJames Posted January 26, 2017 Author Posted January 26, 2017 Thanks, Im not on site again now until Monday afternoon so wil take a look then.
