We use a Mac to share our Windows server based printers to our iPads,

This works fine normally! But I've just added a new printer (i haven't had to add one before so hopefully I've done it right)

I went onto the windows tab > print server > add the printer and select the correct driver.

The trouble i have is when i click the 'Share this printer on the network' it unticks itself and doesn't share!

Anyone know what the problem could be? (i've tried a restart)

Once i added the printer from IP address it worked and it now sharing, must not of liked shared when it's been added off a windows server.

Problem is now when i print it says the printer is offline, but it's doing this for a few different prints so looks like a bigger problem :/

Going off that last bit can you ping the printer?

The printer works perfectly from any windows PC, it not working from the iPads only

I'm not aware of them being in a printer pool (haven't heard that phase before if i'm honest)

All printers are setup with a static IP, we only have about 5 MF printers

Ok, you need to disable IPV6 this can be done by doing the following....

Launch Terminal

Type the following command: networksetup -setv6off Ethernet

(or for the WiFi interface: networksetup -setv6off wi-fi )

Note that if the network interface has a space in the name, you’ll have to escape it - for example if the interface is called ‘VLAN 1’: networksetup -setv6off VLAN\ 1

Go to the system settings and verify the command has worked, you should be able to see an extra menu item called “off” with a tick against it.
