Cannot uninstall programs...

Hi All,

 

Bit of a strange one...

 

I am doing some routine maintenance on teachers laptops and usually sign on as a Domain Admin to do the work.

 

I then have the teacher sign on do some other bits and pieces.

 

When I was logged on as admin (both local and Domain) I looked through the list of installed programs and everything seemed fine.

 

However once the teacher was logged on I saw two entries I am unfamiliar with. My initial instinct is to uninstall them, but cannot as the teacher has limited access obviously.

 

So my questions are, does anybody recognise these programs and how do I uninstall them if I cannot see them as admin?

 

The programs are IDS_DISPLAYNAME and Install Faster, both installed on the same date (they are both from the publisher Express Software, but I can't really see anything with a quick Google).

 

The picture on the left is the Administrators view and on the right the Users view (strangely dropbox appears for her and not the admin either).

I would hazard a guess to say that those apps are installed into the Teacher's "App Data" rather than the Systems Program Files. I know that Dropbox does anyway ...

 

EDIT: Express Software may relate to some Browser Extensions or Toolbar's too ....

Found an uninstall.exe in 'AppData > Local' which had the same modified date as the install date on the programs.

 

It had no info in the details tab regarding publisher, description, product name... Nothing!

 

Had to move it to the desktop as running .exe's are restricted in AppData (which makes me wonder how the app got there).

 

Virus scanned it and although I was still a bit worried, took the chance and ran it. A little box appeared and said uninstalled, still with no info about what it had uninstalled, but the programs have disappeared.
