Folder redirect at domain policy level.

I started in a new job and found the folder redirection policy at the base of the Domain. Could this be slowing down local admin logins? I am I also right in thinking folder redirection is best to the home drive defined in active directory? I also found redirection to the local profile which seems a bit pointless.

That's odd to have folder redirection set at the Default Domain Policy and pointed to the local profile.

 

You're best bet is to, as you mentioned, define home drives in the AD of per user and create a separate GPO for the folder redirection at the root of the user accounts OU.
