Why when I open my PowerPoint file, the program prompts to recover the file?

I get the message:

‘’PowerPoint found unreadable content in Presentation.pptx. PowerPoint can attempt to repair the presentation. If you trust the source of this presentation, click Repair."

I click agree but nothing happens. In the end, the file opens, but leaves the following message:

"PowerPoint removed unreadable content in Presentation [Repaired]. You should review this presentation to determine whether any content was unexpectedly changed or removed."

If I press cancel then the file is closed and I can't go into it. I have tried to install all the updates for office 2010 and reinstalling it, but it didn't help. This is a problem in the file or in the office?

It has been my experience that the file is OK and office has spat the dummy. When it has happened to me, the solution has been to open the file in OpenOffice, change something and save it. Once I've done this, M$ Office is will open the file. It goes without saying that what worked for me might not work for you.
