[Advice] CPD Options?

Afternoon All,

 

I have been told I need to do some CPD... I have a 2:1 Comp Sci degree, I have done all of the schools in house stuff, safeguarding, esafety, etc.

 

Can anyone give me an idea of whats available and whats well respected? I have PRINCE and ITIL in mind as I'd like to move away for just technical support and more into the management of too.

I'd do your Cisco accreditation and something Linux and maybe your MS's if I were you.

Leadership and Management level 5 is a great way to increase your employment CV which will enhance your 2:1 Computer Science degree.

 

Diversification is key here and will increase your chances of a more wider range of high end positions.

If they have asked you to do CPD it is going to be relevant to what you're doing now?

 

If you don't want to do technical then I would go for ITIL / Prince2.

Yes as it is irrelevant at @TomHD level of education, the lower modules will only serve to wet his appetite and he would not learn the upper management strategies required at his level.

He has a degree yes but in IT - not management ?

Looking at those descriptions he would be more suited to level 3, initially?

If he had an NVQ level 3 in IT then yes as his level of attainment and learning would be at a similar level but as he has a level 6 attainment even though its IT based makes no difference to transferable skills.

 

Level 5 Leadership and management is what I would recommend as I have already done it after levels 3 and 4 and wished I had taken advice then and gone straight into level 5.

Thanks for your opinion mate, I've been looking at doing the Level 3 actually that's why I asked, I have a degree so maybe I should think about level 5 but that description was putting me off!
