Mr_Jiminy Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Has anyone had any success with the Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch Lite series and 48-port, 500W series? They seem reasonably priced for a low end solution.
Blue_Cookeh Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I haven't had any issues with the one I played with briefly a week or so ago. I believe the Edge line runs a fork of Vyatta/VyOS anyway so there should be plenty of community support also. I've been pretty impressed with Ubiquiti in general in our school, using their cameras and APs in production. 1
NB9457 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Yup, so easy to use and a lot can be done by the GUI. They are a tad on the loud end though, so it may be an issue if it's going into a room or office. 1
Mr_Jiminy Posted November 18, 2016 Author Posted November 18, 2016 Funny you mention the fan issue, that has been noted in a review I read. It's a toss up between the Cisco SB SG300 52P and the EdgeSwitch. It's the EdgeSwitch Lite series I'm the most unsure of.
NB9457 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 What kind of environment is the switch going in? I've fitted a few Netgear and DLink switches over the past few years and I don't really have a bad word to say about them for the price.

Primary school environment. I've found what I'm looking for
