Blue_Cookeh Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 To be fair if the servers were choking I didn't notice aside from a few Outlook disconnections. I was still sending and receiving mail in a timely manner.
FN-GM Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 If they had gone full Office 365 then I doubt they would have had any problem at all, just need to jump on powershell and delete the message. You can also do that with on prem. The problem with doing this might also be that messages multiply quicker than they can be deleted!

Yeh i've dealt with this myself when we had some abusive emails sent to all members of our school. I managed to get in and block the subject header using an exchange rule, then used powershell to delete all messages with that subject and sender. It worked well but the second bit did take some time from memory. I think Accenture maybe just didn't have those skills I guess to do it quick enough.
markwilfan Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 We had 2 students a couple of weeks ago do a similar thing in Gmail. They were told to send an email to all their contacts. Instead they sent an email to everybody in our directory including our cluster primary schools. In Gmail it's far too easy to do, just a select all button does it when choosing a contact. Good old google don't give you the ability to delete using the equivalent of powershell either so we then had the tirade of reply alls lol that was fun
