newpersn Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Got a slight problem with the Change Password with Windows 10, When the password asks to be changed it dosnt automaticly fill the username in which is confussing pupils (and staff.) also it wont log in once the password is changed. Have to wait for it to timeout or restart the computer. I cant esc it. Anyone with the same problems?
PR-UK Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Are you running pre-anniversary update? We had the same problem with 1511 version we rolled out, if a user locks a machine and their password expires when they try to unlock it, they will be asked to change their password but not given the dialog for it, instead they're told to Switch User (which is disabled) then given a single Password field which won't allow the new password (doesn't match the complexity requirements) and won't accept the old one (the password is incorrect). If you force the machine to reboot or log off as someone else then they get the correct password change fields. Apparently this was fixed with a patch in 1607 but the patch didn't go back and fix the older versions.

PR-UK Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Have you got all the updates for the Anniversary Update? IIRC someone said the fix was in last months CU.

PR-UK Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I think it was the 11th October one - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12387/windows-10-update-history I setup a new 1607 build machine, patched it to the 27th October CU and the password change warnings were correct. 1
