Getting rid of file compression indicator

This annoying file compression indicator has just popped up on all of our PCs. Does anybody know how to get rid of it? Mr Google provides no solution. We have the option "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in colour" disabled.

regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons - add "179"="null.ico,0"

Create a null.ico in c:\windows\system32
