SLG or TASC?

Hi all

 

Been asked to look at parent portals to sit on our SIMS system and it looks like it comes down to either SLG or TASC. I appreciate this is a bit of a Marmite question but if you were starting from scratch now, which of the above would you choose and why, or is there a third I should consider? For us the tablet module in SLG is a big plus but I hear many more good things about Insight.

TASC all the way! Having been an administrator for both I wouldn't entertain SLG.

We have used TASC for several years and its very good - set up and pretty much forget about it. It was by far the most cost-effective method of getting registers, behaviour etc onto staff iPads.

SLG is fine in its way, and if you use hosted set up is minimal, but it only gets developed in fits and starts, TASC seem much more responsive to requests from schools and are constantly updating and fixing. Their support is better than Capita as well, although the web site can be confusing and their documentation needs streamlining.

I've had both and its an easy decision.

 

TASC is also about 20% of the price too I would also say its far better in functionality and ease of use.

We've been using TASC for a while now. We've had no problems with it at all. Support is responsive for any queries. It's a product that just seems to work and do what you expect, which makes a nice change.

+1 for TASC. Functionality and support are excellent and it's saved us money as we've been able to ditch Emerge.

Another one for TASC. I have used both and TASC wins hands down.
