Accessing files from home / HAP

Hi all

 

Simple question, is Home Access Plus the go-to program to enable access to files on the server from home? Or are there other alternatives (preferably free) that can be used.

What are you trying to give them access to? If it's staff etc we use RemoteApps, HAP is more the student side etc.

Ahh, yes, for the staff. Just access to the Mapped Staff Network Drive.

RDP/RemoteApps I'd go for then Next to nothing to add onto OVS unless you have millions of staff

Ahh, as we are a special school none of the OVS type agreements work for us, as we are funded per pupil, and we have a high staff to student ratio........... so we don't have any of those agreements.

 

So, no advancement on HAP? I tried to do it before but got stuck on the step to do with creating certificates.....

HAP is really good, all runs via IIS and it's simple to configure. HAP is the way forward if you don't have the money or licensing in place.

What bit were you stuck on? If you're talking external access really you need an external cert etc
