speckytecky Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 We recently changed our DC from 2008 to 2012 and as the old DC was still live gave the newbie a fresh static IP address reservation. We have a Remote Desktop Server on the Domain that's 2008 R2 and most things are working as planned. One thing that isn't is one user who logs onto the RDS is getting a profile that's trying to pick up the desktop from the Old DC. we don't want to run Delprof2 as the other users don't have an issue. Is there a recommended way of running Delprof2 so it removes just that specific user. We tried renaming the profile in local users but logging that staff member on then brings up a perfect graphical desktop for him but a message saying that it's only a local temporary profile and that from there he won't actually be able to access or save work?
computer_expert Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 What happens if you click start > right click my computer > properties > advanced system settings > settings (under user profile, should be middle one) > click the affected profile > delete? edit - from an admin account rather than the problematic account 1
AJWhite1970 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) DelProf2.exe /id:account_id /p This should do it, the /p isn't necessary but gives you the chance to quit before it deletes the profile just incase... Edited October 24, 2016 by AJWhite1970 1
speckytecky Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 Now why didn't I think of that! Thanks @computer_expert that seems to have done the job a treat. Logged back in as that user and all seems to be tickety boo.
