Yes Microsoft adds backwards compatibility for games regularly. You can see the games supported here: Xbox One Backward Compatibility | Xbox You can also vote on their forums for other games to get added. If you bought the game digitally and it works it will just be ready to install. If you have a disc you put the disc in and it downloads a copy of the game from the net that it runs. I think you have to leave the disc in the drive to play the game but the game doesnt run from the disc as it downloads a special version that works with the xbox one.
