mazon is considering the addition of broadband to its ever-growing roster of products available on its premium subscription service, according to reports.

 

The online retail giant is weighing up plans to become an internet service provider in Europe, according to tech news website the Information. The company could package its retail and entertainment offerings on Prime together with connectivity.

 

Offering its Prime film and TV streaming along with broadband would create a competitive offer that could rival the likes of Virgin and Sky in the UK...

It would be interesting to see if they throttle competitors services such as Netflix.

I can't see it but an Amazon internet subscription would have to be very competatively priced to make it work.

unless say they bought out talk talk who have a justifiably bad rep and are supposed to be haemorrhaging users so could be an easy way in?

Also, if they just choose to piggyback off BT's network like every other provider, then it's doomed to the same failures as everyone else. If they choose to implement their own network infrasture, then that would be a VERY interesting prospect!
